To setup your computer/kiosk/StarBase as a StarComs device, you need to download StarComs (from the Download StarComs tab), and then configure your system as a new StarComs device.
Every time you create a new device, and each time that you modify it, the site will automatically download a .bat
file that contains StarComs configuration for your device. You must use the latest version of the .bat
file to run StarComs.
After you download the .bat
file, ignore the warnings and click it to install your configuration in the correct folder.
StarComs documentation and tutorials can be found here.
Tip: To configure StarComs after you've created a device and installed it on your local machine, go to the StarComs Configuration page. If you receive a "This site can't be reached" message, it means StarComs isn't running on your local machine, so make sure it's installed (from the Download StarComs tab) and then start it via the icon on your desktop.
